The Infamous Mt. Tanigawa: Hiking in Peak Autumn Colors

Edited on

If you give it a quick search on the internet, chances are you’ll find that this moutain has quite a reputation—“mountain of death” as they say. However, that wasn’t quite my experience there.

Sure, it was windy and overly crowded, but it was far from deadly. I’m happy to find mostly green and gold in the photos I took—it was incredibly beautiful during the peak of autumn. Just stick with the easy route like I did, unless you’re up for a serious challenge.

The route

I took the Tenjin Ridge Hiking Course — 登頂コース(天神尾根) which took me roughly 6 hours and 35 minutes to complete.
